What is the difference between 3CR13 and 5CR15mov materials?

June 05, 2024

3CR13 and 5CR15mov are two different metal materials. They have some differences in component, hardness, abrasion resistance, and corrosion resistance.

Component

First of all, from the perspective of component, 3CR13 contains chromium, steel and molybdenum elements, while 5CR15Mov contains carbon, chromium, molybdenum and cricket. Especially the high carbon content of 5CR15mov, which helps greatly increase the hardness of the tool.

Hardness

Secondly, in terms of hardness, the hardness of 5CR15mov is about HRC55-57, and the hardness of 3CR13 may vary according to specific thermal treatment and processing methods. But in general, these two materials can provide higher hardness, so that the tools are not easy to deform and damage during use, and can maintain the sharpness of the tool.

Wear Resistance

In terms of wear resistance, 3CR13 shows excellent abrasion resistance due to its good steel components, and can maintain stability and good cutting effect during long -term use. The wear resistance of 5CR15Mov is also excellent, which is due to its synergistic effects of its high carbon content and the synergy of chromium, molybdenum, and cricket.

Corrosion Resistance

In terms of corrosion resistance, 3CR13 has good corrosion resistance because it contains a certain amount of chromium, and it is not easy to rust even in a humid environment. And 5CR15mov also has good corrosion resistance due to the presence of chromium.

Application

Finally, from the perspective of application, 3CR13 is often used in home kitchen knives and industrial knives. The advantage is that it is easy to process, high hardness and corrosion resistance. The 5CR15Mov is more used as a professional knife and cut material. Its high hardness and good wear resistance and corrosion resistance make it perform well in the field of cutting and cutting.

In general, 3CR13 and 5CR15Mov have their own characteristics and advantages in terms of composition, hardness, abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, etc. The choice of materials mainly depends on the specific needs and environment.
